He nurtured dreams of becoming an artist since his childhood. His father, a business man, wanted him to run the family-owned restaurant, and so he was never encouraged to learn or pursue art professionally. He had to hide his sketches from his dad who refused to indulge in his son\u2019s fantasies. He sketched in the bill books of his restaurant until his work caught the eye of a customer from a leading publication called Mid-day Mumbai. From there on, this\u00a0<strong>self groomed artist started his career as a freelance illustrator.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>His career as a\u00a0<strong>freelance illustrator<\/strong>\u00a0began in 1994 for Mid-day, Magna Publishing: (Magazines like Savvy, Society, Island, Stardust, Citadel, Health n Nutrition and their various other publications.) He was also involved in creating illustrations for Tinkle, Amar Chitra Katha,\u00a0Sunday\u00a0Observer, New Woman, Reader\u2019s Digest, Femina and TOI. He also worked on projects on Prithvi Theatre, Mumbai.<\/li>\n<li>He has worked for various\u00a0<strong>advertisement agencies<\/strong>\u00a0like LOWE (Lintas), Kailash, Picture Productions (K.P.C) and FAR Productions. Story boards for advertisement campaigns like the famous MRF Sachin Tendulkar advertisement, Hero Honda, Nyle shampoo Colgate International (Dubai) advertisements in Mumbai.<\/li>\n<li>He was an\u00a0<strong>assistant director<\/strong>\u00a0for Mr. Jeet Surendranath, FAR productions, Mumbai.<\/li>\n<li>Developed a cell animation for an\u00a0<strong>educational project<\/strong>\u00a0with Microsoft, Bengaluru.<\/li>\n<li>He\u00a0<strong>learnt sculpturing<\/strong>at Shri Hanumantha Acharya school of sculpting, Devanahalli, Bengaluru in1995.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>CAREER HIGHLIGHTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>International caricature festival<\/strong>, Goa (2013)<\/li>\n<li>Acted in a commercial movie<strong>, \u2018Shanthiniketan\u2019<\/strong>, directed by Shri. Karthik Shinde based on a story of an artist\/ painter in an art school. This movie is in the process of its release. (2013).<\/li>\n<li>Live shows of,\u00a0<strong>on the spot painting with music<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Mumbai\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Karnataka\u00a0<\/strong>(2010\/2011\/2012)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Caricatured\u00a0<\/strong>for &#8220;Dignity Foundation&#8221;, Mumbai (2010\/2011)<\/li>\n<li>Launch of a series of\u00a0<strong>paintings on the epic \u2018RAMAYANA\u2019, PART 1,<\/strong>at The Annual Book Fair,\u00a0<strong>Frankfurt, Germany<\/strong>\u00a0(Magna Publication 2005)<\/li>\n<li>Auctioned his charcoal work of \u2018<strong>Mother Teresa\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0for a whopping amount at a charity event organized by\u00a0<strong>New York based designer Gazala at Joss in Mumbai,<\/strong>\u00a0in aid of children affected by HIV AIDS. (2005)<\/li>\n<li>Eight walls of the Kindergarten classrooms of\u00a0<strong>North Point School (ICSE)<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Navi Mumbai<\/strong>came to life with realistic pictures of birds, animals and marine life making the ambiance an enjoyable and happy one for the kids. The 3D effect in his work and emphasis to minute details were truly appreciated by the management. (2004)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>STYLE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chithramitra believes that \u2018medium does not define the art, but it is the product that relates to the viewer.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He works with various\u00a0<strong>mediums<\/strong>\u00a0but\u00a0<strong>charcoal, oil, acrylics, enamel, pen and ink<\/strong>\u00a0are his favorites.\u00a0<strong>Realistic, surrealistic and graphic<\/strong>\u00a0are his forte.
